Reception Homework
Phonic Books
These are ‘decodable’ books. They contain words that children can ‘sound out’. Children will use their knowledge of letter- sound relationships that they have learnt in class to read the words.
Books will be changed on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Please try to read as often as possible, at least 5 times a week.
Adults should record this in your child’s reading diary.
Library Books
Your child has the opportunity to borrow books form the school library on a Wednesday after school, 3:30pm -4pm. Please read and share these stories with your child at bedtime or whenever suits your routine. This will help your child to communicate and develop their language skills, as they discuss and talk about what’s happening in the story.
Maths Opportunities
At home, please continue to support your child with their counting skills using a wide range of objects, such as counting plates for dinner, pieces of fruit for snack or sorting items.
