World Book Day 2020

The whole school celebrated the joy of books on World Book Day this year.

The day started with a hotly contested Book Quiz. After 2 rounds the teachers emerged as winners (with the pupils just 1 point behind).

After the excitement of the quiz the children had the opportunity to choose which story they would like to hear from a wide variety offered by the members of staff. The theme of World Book Day 2020 was 'Share a million stories' and the school got behind this sentiment wholeheartedly. It was wonderful to see children from different year groups mixing and sharing stories which included picture books, novels, Polish stories and those signed in BSL.

Once again we were amazed at the creativity of our children as demonstrated in the amazing wooden spoon book characters. We were so impressed at the variety, detail and ingenuity shown. Congratulations to all those who made a book character, we hope you enjoyed making them as much as we enjoyed seeing them.
