Welcome to the Governors' section.

The purpose of the governing body:

The governing body is the school’s responsible body.  It operates at a strategic level with three main responsibilities:

1. Ensuring clarity of the Catholic vision, ethos and strategic direction;
2. Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance and Catholic character of the school and its pupils; and
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

Our school's governing body is made up of 4 different categories of governors:

Foundation Governors:

There are seven Foundation Governors. Foundation Governors are practising Catholics appointed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Portsmouth.

Local Authority Governors:

There is one Local Authority Governor appointed by the Local Authority.

Parent Governors:

There are two Parent Governors who are elected by the parents of children who attend the school.

Staff Governors:

There is one staff Governor (who can be a teacher or non-teacher) who is elected by other staff.
