If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

Paper copies are available of these documents.  Please contact the school office.

School tours for prospective parents are held monthly from September to January.

In year applications to St John’s:

Applications can be made at any time. If you wish to apply for a place at St John’s other than for the start of Reception year, you will need to make an in year application. Parents will need to complete a common application form (CAF) and complete a school SIF (supplementary information form). These, along with any relevant documents should be submitted to Admissions at Portsmouth City Council. Please note that in year applications are processed in term time only.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria will be applied. If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing, and you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.

If you need further information about in year applications, please contact the school office or information about mid-year admissions can also be viewed on the council website www.portsmouth.gov.uk/schooladmissions or copies can be obtained from the

Admissions Service 023 9268 8008.
