Year 4

Mrs. Warren          Teacher

Mrs. Dunford         LSA

Mrs. White             Teacher

Miss McKnight      LSA

Mrs. Smith             LSA

Year 4 had a great time preparing for their pick 'n' mix sale. They learnt lots about business enterprise and managed to raise 70 pounds to donate to the Cyclone Idai and Kenneth 'Save the Children' appeal.
Over the last term, as part of our learning on Catholic Social Justice within our Wild Weather topic,  we have focused on the meaning of solidarity, community and participation. This led to the children's ideas of how we could demonstrate our understanding of  these themes in our topic work, by supporting those affected by natural disasters.

D- Day Celebration

Some of our year 4 children down on the big D-Day stage performing with the Royal Marines! They are very honoured to be taking part in the celebrations and mastered a tricky 4 part song with Mayfield School.

Well done everyone.

Poetry Competition

Daniel recently entered some of the poetry he wrote in class into a competition. He won his age category and was presented an award by the Lord Mayor.

Myra and Stanley were commended for their efforts also. Well done!

During Anti-bullying week the children thought carefully about the profile of a bully and what it means to be bullied. They had many excellent reflective thoughts to share and enjoyed exploring the topic

The children had fun making telephones in Science as part of their sound topic and trying them out on the playground.

The children in Year 4 remembered the fallen soldiers of WW1 and loved ones during the month of November. They made poppies whilst thinking about this  and prayed together with Mrs Cornborough.

Portsmouth Music Hub’s One World Song Book

Some of our Year 4 children went to Southsea beach  to take part in the launch of the Portsmouth Music Hub’s One World song book. After performing the songs on the pier, the children then went to the beach to clean up the rubbish! More information is available on the Portsmouth Music Hub’s website. The children will soon appear in the Portsmouth  News’ feature on the project.
