21st December 2016
There are no words to express just how humbled I’ve been by the cards, gifts, messages and hugs I’ve received over the past few days. I am completely overwhelmed by your generosity. I will enjoy my trips to the theatre, going on the Eurostar and choosing something with my voucher from John Lewis to remember you all by.
Yesterday’s assembly was very special with the children’s wonderful songs and poems. Mass in the afternoon was a wonderful opportunity to thank God for all the blessings I have received during my Headship. It was lovely to see past staff, parents, pupils and priests there too.
I can’t think of a lovelier way to finish my time as Headteacher at St. John’s than with our Christmas Production today. The children as always were amazing.
Over the years you have entrusted me with the care, faith development and education of your children. The trust you placed in me is something I never took for granted as I always strived for the best for your children. I know there are some who didn’t always agree with my approach and I can only apologise for any offence I may ever have caused, but I really have only ever had what’s best for your child at the heart of all I’ve done.
St. John’s will without a doubt continue to go from strength to strength under the leadership of Mrs Park, supported by Mrs Beaton. I will look forward to witnessing the next phase of the school’s journey.
St. John’s will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I wish you all a happy, holy and peace filled Christmas.
With grateful thanks and love and prayers for the future,
