This year we are really excited to be raising money for Sport Relief 2016! As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives.
St John’s has decided to get involved and help raise money for this incredible cause. We will be doing sport related activities throughout the day on Friday 18th March 2016.
The day will start with a Sport Relief Mile around the school grounds, where child can walk, run or jog laps around the school with their class.
We would really like to get parents involved in Sports Relief too. The CM sports coaches will be running a 15 minute family fun work out at 3pm on Friday 18th March, on the school playground and all family members are welcome! The work out will be led with music and is just a chance to show our children that raising money can be fun and beneficial for our health! The children will then go back into their class to pick up their belongings and you can collect them as normal at 3.30pm.
Please bring your child to school wearing their P.E kit and trainers. They will wear this for the day. Please bring £1 as a donation towards Sports Relief.
The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries. To learn more about how Comic Relief spends the money raised for Sport Relief please look at the pamphlet below or visit sportrelief.com/schools.
We will also be using Sport Relief as a teaching opportunity so that our students can learn about the issues children across the world face, and how the money we raise can help them.
We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping our school raise lots of money for Sport Relief!
